i'm going with a zero effort goth gf costume (i actually just put on the gothiest stuff from my normal wardrobe, wear black nail polish and do my face makeup a bit more pale and ethereal than usual)
i won 3rd place. no beef, their costumes were incredible. i thought i was pretty middle-of-the-road, honestly. i didn't even know there was a contest. the #1 was like a disorientingly realistic as an elf. a few people approached me and said mine was the best, which was flattering. i did spend some time on the makeup. i probably could have had a little more showmanship with it. a couple of times i would just be standing there quietly listening to a conversation in a group of people and someone in the circle would turn and see me out of the corner of their eye and be like, "jeeeesus CHRIST" as they instinctively pulled away, so i guess it was pretty good.
I'm going as JFK as he's being shot, my partner is a blood-soaked Jackie with pieces of my brain, and my dog is going to wear a white t-shirt that says "heaven's perfect patsy". I couldn't find a toy gun that looks like a carcano so I want to get one group portrait where he has an actual sniper rifle in front of him.
edit: We're also going to a hookah bar tonight so if anyone gets on the subject of JFK I'm going to test my theory that it was an accident.
I was a Greek goddess/rich looking person, and my friend spilled red wine all over my white dress and it looked like I killed Caesar. It was pretty funny.
I don't know if I'm dressing up for actual Halloween, but I went to a party the other day as cowboy leather daddy Ghostface. I do like the Scream movies, but I mainly did it because I figured my girlfriend and her friends would think it was hot lol
I'm kinda proud of how well it turned out actually. I was almost fully decked out in leather, including chaps. Even my hat, which miraculously fit over my mask, was leather. Wore spurs on my boots, and my jacket had all kinds of crazy rodeo fringe all over it. Was sweating like a pig after five minutes on the dance floor, but totally worth it
