OK but you have to recognize that this is being an asshole in a different way. Don't do either of these things preferably

I'm a female-passing (afab agender but that's beside the point) physicist. I do this when men (honest to god it's always been men so far) explain something to me that i obviously know better. Like for example they'll know I'm a physicist but explain to me that water boils at a lower temperature in the mountains or something like that. I'll just play a game to see just how dumb i can get them to think i am. Pretty dumb is usually the answer.

I tend to adopt the view that my words aren't just distracting sounds that come from a hole in my face and try to extend the trust and courtesy to others.

I don't think it's generally very nice to say things we don't mean to wind people up. you can just say "I think you're being a wanker, pull your head in" instead of whatever this is.

They reenact the "crying woman yelling at stubborn cat" meme perfectly.

So glad I grew out of being a know-it-all. Now I just do it when I want to be an asshole.

I have fixed this by becoming arrogant in the reverse way, unless I am the dumbest person in the room, I want to leave.
