All of them are the people who wouldn't get offered coke at illuminati's annual meeting

Honestly it's because they aren't meant to be likeable for us, they're meant to be likeable for the ruling class. Of course as the ruling class continues to get more and more alienated from the working class, their representatives get further and further from being relatable to the working class.

  I do think most people have an instinctual rejection of them though, which is a major reason why most people don't vote or engage with politics at all.

They can only choose the people who are available, and these cretins are the only ones that want the job.
I think you have to be a ghoul to pursue politics but never recognise the true contradictions of capitalism, so you only end up with the most unlikeable out of touch mfers.

It's because they are career politicians. They dedicated their whole lives to this bullshit, of course they are boring and miqueltoast, because what other kind of person would do this?
Nepotism and corporate ideology. The first one prevents talented public speakers from rising to the top, the second is the reason why the kids who get groomed for leadership all get taught to be as bland as possible to appeal to everyone (therefore appealing to noone).
But you are choosing from the ruling class. They are a bunch of inbreed removed, maybe what we see is the best they got.
