Yemeni rebels attempting to impose a blockade on Israel fired rockets on a British ship and reportedly managed to sink it, the first time it has succeeded since the start of Israel's war on Hamas in Gaza
I saw an interview with a French military official about the economics of shooting down Houthi drones. He said something like "if France shoots a $10,000 drone with a $10m missile, it's more accurate to say that the drone has destroyed the missile than the other way round."
It will be like the high score screens in arcade games. The Houthi will achieve the greatest naval victory in history and then they'll spell A-S-S next to the death toll.
A lot of people want to see an American carrier get sunk, but personally I want to see a British carrier get sunk first. These losers are still clinging onto the last vestiges of glory and prestige and still act like they rule the world. The English Angloid must be punished for being the genesis of Global Angloism and spreading themselves through several continents. They must be humbled once and for all
I mean. Nobody's really a civikian if what theyre doing is perpetuating a genocide. Not to say they shouldve been hanged for being in the wrong place and wrong time but, i feel like this attack was justified
Good, now do an American one and let's tank those Navy recruitment numbers! Get some pics of rank and file sailor kids bobbing around in the gulf in life jackets. Just a piddly little hole in the side of a carrier so it sinks nice and slow and it can draw out a media spectacle. Could be the straw that breaks the beast's back - a rag tag troop of kids taking out a behemoth symbol of American empire would be the funniest way to kick off the collapse.
It's not a thing going around the internet, it just occurred to me it was such a shitshow and so serving to foreign interests it's almost indistinguishable from self-sabotage
The Junta were ideological besties with fucking Tatcher. Both governments approval ratings were in the gutter, but Tatcher was more likely to lose power first.
Before the war Argentina had a reasonable argument to legally annex that cold wasteland, without disturbing at all the 4k britbongs merrily suffering there. They blew it.
You have no idea how much Argies, especially the high-bougie dipshits who had always controlled the military here love Britbongia. Their biggest dream is to be an official UK colony. I'm not fuckign kidding.
Go to war for the first time in 100 years, YOU are the attacker, britbongs don't suspect shit, yet zero fucking planning.
ABSOLUTELY ZERO FUCKING PLANNING
Trust the yanks won't betray you against the britbongs.
Send beardless 18 yo conscripts with zero training who had never seen snow nor the sea in their life to a very humid-freezing place with inadequate clothes and food rations at the FUCKING END OF AUTUMN. Meanwhile most of the "seasoned" professional infantry stayed at home. (Sure, the "seasoning" was killing union leaders, teachers and other civilians, but at least they knew how to grab a fucking rifle)
Let me stress this: imagine sending 18 yo kids from East Klansville Louisiana to Alaska in November with not enough clothes, food nor ammo. (Sure there aren't wolves nor bears in Malvinas but you get it)
The infantry didn't had enough ammo.
Tatcher gets an easy victory. Junta "falls" (calls for elections) but who cares since 1) the job was done: Privatized most gov capital, nationalized a shitton of private debt, took huge IMF loans and immediately funneled that money out of the country, and killed an entire generation of lefties. 2) Tatcher remaining in power was VERY important for the neoliberal plan.
The Junta's "job" was done before the war, they were happy with it, and they knew they were on their way out without any worries for their future. And they were right since by the most part they payed no consequences for their crimes nor even public humilliation for their shitshow of war.
Of course, instead of a big conspiracy this can be explained by just immense stupidity, which is more likely.
The UK is one of the largest suppliers of arms to Saudi Arabia, and London immediately expressed strong support for the Saudi-led campaign.
The attack on Yemen saw sales of UK bombs for 2015 increase from £9m to over £1bn in three months.
In January 2016, it emerged that UK military advisors were assisting Saudi personnel in the selection of targets.
As well as supplying materiel and targeting support for the bombing of Yemen, the UK has assisted the coalition diplomatically. For example, the UK response, provided by Middle East Minister Tobias Ellwood, to the leaked report of a UN panel in January 2016, which documented more than one hundred instances of coalition air strikes that had violated international law, was to say that the Saudis had made "mistakes" and claim that other cases may have been "fabricated" by the Houthis.
Some British soldiers were involved in gun battles with, and been wounded by, Houthi fighters.
