It's literally partly theie fault I am one now. If it didn't seem like the teachers I liked the least seemed to hate it the most, I probably wouldn't have looked into it as open minded as early as I did.
So, that's a huge W for us. You know what I was as a kid? Contrarian as hell towards any view my teachers had even if retrospectively they were correct. The first exposure to looking into communism on my own was reading the manifesto in 8th grade to figure out what my weirdo social studies teacher was so riled up about. There is no USSR boogeyman that you can say is constantly threatening global Armageddon in any way that feels realistic anymore as well. Y'all won the Cold War and are scared enough of communism still to push this? Kids thrive on adult fear. Plus there's like, way more communism online now than before, you want a cultural revolution in 15 years? Here's how you get one you absolute dolts. They'd be better off just not bringing it up as an option. I wonder how any teacher could get around those standards. Perhaps by doing the bare minimum? Maybe it'll be as drab and forgettable as 12th grade government/economics. I mean they already serve an anti communist unction in a way, along with teaching Eric Blair in freshman English.
It would depend on specifics of the bill and the school boards. Most teachers I imagine are libs and so would be fine teaching Orwell if not the Black Book.
Having teachers be hostile to a curriculum means that you wind up with school board members showing up to read off a paper for 45 minutes.
Some teachers are pretty cool, but teaching leaves little time/energy for self education outside of their subjects, so they wind up being a time capsule of popular approachable radical opinions just before they started teaching full time.
I can see that. With all these conservative activist parents with nothing better to do, it makes me happy I did not become a teacher. Still, I always wonder how my high school social studies teacher fares through all this. He's a Bernie-sympathetic former Republican but, his education gave him a bit of an anti imperialist streak.

He claims he taught computer science at a university in Cuba, but never had a computer. Even though Cuba has a PC Gaming culture... His wife told me he made "$20 a month" living in Cuba. No context on what's the CoL is like, and frankly not a trusted source anyway.

Lol contrarianism is part of the the US' (or anything touched by France vaguely) DNA, this will turn out about as anti-communism as DARE was anti-drug. If I had a mere penny for every tree enthusiast I've ever seen wearing a tie-dye DARE tshirt I'd have at least 3 or 4 dollars, and I'm super rural. I'd have at least 50 cents for bong hitters in DARE shirts. Sure, the kids will be zealous, but as they age, not so.
What they may be thinking pushing this is mere short term gain brownie points with the boomers still deep in red scare brain like its 1951 and boring gusanos, long term the only way I see this even remotely working out is if FL slides into the literal ocean in a very short period of time, or there's some other fast collapse yet the US retains a degree of both hard and soft power. The ploy is like teaching hard core anticommunism to some places in the global south where people are lucky to be educated at all and hold what little education they did have as infallible dogma, hoping to recreate that piece at home in hopes they'll have useful super ultra-reactionaries as shit slides downhill to be good little soldier-slaves that can't dream of a better world.
