In case anyone seriously considers doing something like this, you should know that vandalizing or removing political yardsigns is a misdemeanor in every state and can carry fines of $1000 and up to 90 days in jail per sign.
Wouldn't it only count to political signs placed by the party in question? I don't think making your own sign would count. That would just be normal vandalism wouldn't it?
If it's your sign you may do as you please with the sign. Displaying it in your yard may be less straightforward, as it may no longer count as a political sign and fall under a local sign or art ordinance. Probably.
The overlap between people who would put these signs up and the people who shoot other people merely for appearing on their doorbell cameras is pretty wide.
I support but do not recommend this type of vandalism.
After seeing two of my neighbors put up Trump signs in 2016, I said "no fucking way are we ever putting a political sign on our lawn." I'm not going to risk anything around these people. Who knows how insane they are? I don't even want a knock on my door and a lecture.
I don't much care about the legality. I'd be much more concerned about a Trump supporter sitting in front of a monitor staring at a hidden camera feed of the sign on his lawn, just itching for someone to vandalize it so he could come out guns blazing,.
Has trump even picked his vp yet? Whom ever it is better have a lock tight exit strategy because his last vp was literally minutes away from being strung up by Trump supporters.
January 6th insurrectionists built gallows on the Capitol lawn.
After Mike Pence did the bare-minimum in fulfilling his constitutional duties by affirming the election results, the protesters who thought he'd follow the plan began chanting, "Hang Mike Pence."
5:17 Trump tweet followed by mob chanting "hang Mike Pence" with a gallows setup on the lawn.
At this point, protestors have already breached the capital and entered the building.
Congress evacuated, and Mike Pence was waiting with Secret Service outside of his car. Secret service wanted him in the car, but he refused on the grounds that they would evacuate him off site, and he felt it was important to stay.
What about a white sharpie though? They used something white on the capital C and E to make them into I and S.
False advertisement! I want my money back!
